Message:The plastic float for the fuel sender frequently fills with fuel and sinks, causing the gauge to read low or empty. Fuel containing ethanol seems particularly prone to this. Rather than replace the entire sender, consider replacing only the float with a brass float from a Ford Mustang, part number 24007502 available from Mustangs Unlimited or from Moss Motors US. It is fuel proof and simply snaps in to replace the original plastic float.
